Date, time & venue: Friday, 30th January 2009, 7 pm Dragon Castle Restaurant 100 Walworth Road London SE17 1JL (nearest Tube station: Elephant & Castle)
Chinese New Year, together with Hari Raya Eid il-Fitr, Deepavali and Christmas, are the four major ethnic/religious festivals celebrated in Singapore. This year, Chinese New Year falls on Monday, 26th January, ushering in the Year of the Ox. We at UKSSC intend to celebrate the occasion with a grand dinner at the Dragon Castle Restaurant. We have requested a multi-course menu including (at our request) the restaurant's version of our beloved raw fish salad, yusheng 鱼生 (or "lo hei" as some of you may know it). Please note that the menu is not halal and features meat dishes, but should there be sufficient demand, we shall be pleased to arrange a vegetarian alternative (those opting for this will sit at one table set aside for them).
For more information on the restaurant, please see http://www.dragoncastle.eu/ Prices are as follows: SUKA member £27 SUKA Student member £17 Non-member £35
Table of 10 (can include non-members) £300
Prices include VAT and service charge and tea served throughout the dinner. Other drinks are to be paid for individually. Students wishing to attend this event are requested to contact
